For over four decades, Kireka Home has stood as a beacon of hope, compassion, and opportunity for children with special needs in Uganda. Located in Kireka, just outside Kampala, the institution has dedicated itself to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Founded in 1984, Kireka Home is among Uganda’s longest-serving institutions supporting children with special educational needs. The school serves children from across the country, many of whom would otherwise face exclusion, stigma, and limited access to education and care. At Kireka Home, every child is recognized for their unique abilities and given the support they need to thrive.
