Years Of Service To Children with Special Needs.
Lives Impacted Through Care, Education and Community Outreach.
Empowering Every Child to Reach Their Full Potential
Kireka Home for Children with Special Needs has been a place of refuge, learning, and belonging since 1984. Located in Kireka, just outside Kampala, we are one of Uganda’s longest-serving institutions dedicated to the care and education of children living with intellectual and developmental challenges.
In Uganda, children living with intellectual and developmental disabilities are among the most vulnerable. Without the right environment and support, too many face isolation, limited education, and missed opportunities to reach their potential. At Kireka Home, we exist to change that — one child at a time.
(Not Final). Rebecca Nakuwanda is an accomplished Ugandan educator and administrative leader recognized for her impactful service in the public education sector. Her career is defined by her deep commitment to foundational learning, community engagement, and institutional accountability.
Rebecca built her professional foundation as an educator within the Kira Municipal Council region. Her leadership capabilities led to her appointment as Deputy Head Teacher, where she managed daily school operations, student welfare, and curriculum implementation. Her administrative excellence subsequently earned her a promotion to Head Teacher at the Kireka Home for Children with Special Needs, a key public educational institution in the municipality.
Every contribution to Kireka Home goes directly toward the children in our care — funding meals, education, and the daily support that gives each child a real chance to thrive. Whatever you are able to give, it makes a difference.
